CBS’s season finale schedule


Cliffhangers! Deadly force! Platonic co-workers and friends taking their relationships, and we quote, “to another level”!

These are the tasty treats that await CBS viewers this May, or so says its finale press release. Among the items to look forward to: an all-”Pearl Jam” soundtrack on the two-part season (series?) finale of “Cold Case” on May 3 & 10;  Laurence Fishburne’s Dr. Langston busting a cap with deadly results  on “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” on May 14; and Barney finally — wait for it — confessing his love to Robin on “How I Met Your Mother” on May 18.

Sunday, May 3& 10

(9 PM)     COLD CASE-The music of Pearl Jam will rock throughout the two-part sixth season finale episodes.  This marks the first time the series has exclusively showcased the music of one artist in more than one episode and the first time Pearl Jam has permitted a program to use selections from their entire catalog of music.  In the episodes, Rush (Kathryn Morris) and the team delve into the 2005 murder of the first female cadet of a local military school who didn’t live beyond her first semester.  In Part Two, the stakes of the case are raised after the cadet’s unknown killer commits a shocking act against Rush designed to thwart the investigation.

Sunday, May 10

(8 PM)   THE AMAZING RACE 14-The final three teams race from Beijing to Maui for the final leg and the chance to claim the $1 million prize.  Phil Keoghan hosts.

(10 PM) THE UNIT-The Unit must locate and diffuse three sets of dirty bombs headed for unknown locations across the U.S.  Meanwhile, the team prepares for a wedding of one Unit member and the end of a marriage for another.

Monday, May 11

(8 PM)  THE BIG BANG THEORY-As he prepares for a three-month science expedition, Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) reconsider their feelings for one another.

Wednesday, May 13

(8 PM) THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE- Christine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) learns some shocking news about New Christine’s father after the two of them rekindle their romance at Richard (Clark Gregg) and New Christine’s (Emily Rutherfurd) wedding.

(8:30)  GARY UNMARRIED-Gary (Jay Mohr) and Allison’s (Paula Marshall) frustrating personal lives lead them back into the bedroom…repeatedly.

Thursday, May 14

(9 PM) CSI-The CSIs investigate a series of murders tied to a scam involving valuable poker chips from a long-gone casino and Det. Ray Langston (Laurence Fishburne) must use deadly force for the first time in his career as a CSI.

Friday, May 15

(8 PM) GHOST WHISPERER-When a ghost pays Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) an unexpected visit, she worries for her unborn baby.  Wedding bells ring for Melinda and Jim (David Conrad).

(10 PM) NUMB3RS-When Amita (Navi Rawat) is abducted, Don  (Rob Murrow) and the team’s frantic search leads to a charismatic sociopath, but it is up to a distraught Charlie (David Krumholtz) to discover what’s behind the suspect’s bizarre plans for her.  The situation causes Charlie to reassess his relationship and future with Amita.

Sunday, May 17

(8 PM)  SURVIVOR: TOCANTINS–The special two-hour finale  begins with four remaining castaways vying for the $1 million prize and title of “Ultimate Survivor.”  The finale is followed by a one-hour live reunion show hosted by Jeff Probst.

Monday, May 18

(8:30) HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER-Ted (Josh Radnor) gives Barney(Neil Patrick Harris) his blessing to finally profess his love to Robin (Cobie Smulders).

(9 PM) TWO AND A HALF MEN-Charlie (Charlie Sheen) starts to question his relationship with Chelsea (Jennifer Taylor) when he hears that Mia (Emmanuel Vaugier) is back in town.  Meanwhile, when Judith (Marin Hinkle) goes into labor, Charlie, Alan (Jon Cryer) and Herb (Ryan Stiles) rush her to the hospital.

(9:30 PM)  RULES OF ENGAGEMENT-Jeff (Patrick Warburton) wonders if he and Audrey (Megyn Price) are lacking spontaneity in the bedroom.

(10 PM) CSI: MIAMI-Horatio (David Caruso) fights to save Yelina (Sophia Milos) while Delko (Adam Rodriguez) goes against Calleigh’s (Emily Proctor) pleas and helps his dangerous father with life threatening consequences.  Brian Austin Green guest stars as an alleged carjack victim.

Tuesday, May 19

(8 PM) NCIS- Ziva’s (Cote de Pablo) homecoming to Israel with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) leads to a tense reunion with her father, the enigmatic and powerful head of Mossad.  As this delicate situation escalates, Gibbs is forced to make a decision that sends shockwaves through NCIS.

(9 PM)  THE MENTALIST- Lisbon (Robin Tunney) suspects that serial killer Red John is drawing Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) into a trap when the CBI team investigates the murder of a young girl and the abduction of her twin sister.

(10 PM)  WITHOUT A TRACE- The team searches for a man who disappears after a late night ocean dive that includes stolen drugs and three dead bodies.  Meanwhile, Danny (Enrique Murciano) and Elena (Roselyn Sanchez) take their relationship to another level.

Wednesday, May 20

(8 PM) CRIMINAL MINDS-The BAU tracks a serial killer who chooses junkies, prostitutes and the homeless off the streets of Detroit and takes them across the border into Canada.  After solving that case, another killer returns to exact his revenge.

(10 PM)  CSI: NY-A member of the team is murdered after a deadly group of kidnappers snatch Robert Dunbrook’s (Craig T. Nelson) son while he is being transferred from prison to court.  And, if that loss isn’t enough, the life of another CSI is threatened.
